Satisfaction

Me, the author of this here blog and lazy ass extraordinaire did some exercise to get my partially fat ass into a shape that doesn't wobble when I walk. Ok I'm over exaggerating mostly but the winter has been long and unkind to my godly Greek body.

So I put on my sports pants, tied the laces on my activity shoes( my shoes that I use for anything remotely active), rigged up my headphones so they don't bob all over the place, got my music ready, set up the gps and after all that decided that it is now time.

I stepped outside and I started... walking, then I decided it's going to be too hot to go with a jacket. Turn around take it off and then start again. So there I am, me vs the elements, Mother Nature in her purest form. I pulled away one foot in front of the other, jog walking to see how far I can push myself.

I was running trying to see where this wall is of which everyone speaks so highly. Being only the third time I have run in basically my whole life I wanted to do 3.5 km's continuously. And I did, and I felt Ok. Then 4 and 4.5 and by 5 I was properly tired and decided to call it a day.

Yes it was hard and I felt pains in my chest, I had burning calves, I was sweating, and my lungs felt like they were on fire! But after all that achieving something far overshadows the minor pain you have felt. Being able to say I did that, that makes it worth all the effort.

I now have a need to go further, and see to where I can push myself, to find my own limit. If you are feeling fat and disgusting or just want to get healthy and fit again, I would recommend running, its hard, and you are wonder why you did it, but it’s the quickest way to get back out there.

Stop being so lazy.
